Austria

<Firmenbuch>

The Austrian Business Register contains information about all registered Austrian companies. Access to this register is subject to a fee.

Belgium

<Crossroads Bank for Entreprises>

The Belgian business register, the Business Hub Database (French Banque-Carrefour des Entreprises (BCE), Dutch Kruispunktbank van Ondernemingen (KBO), is managed by an office in the Federal Department of the Economy.

The database covers all enterprises, and the law requires all enterprises to register. It also lists businesses’ establishments (or ‘establishment units’): these are the addresses where – or from where – the business conducts its operations.

The database also provides links to other databases. It covers not just businesses but other legal persons too. Sole traders, public bodies, and in some cases foreign businesses, are all included.

Bulgaria

<ТРРЮЛНЦ – TRRYULNTs>

The Bulgarian business register/register of non-profit legal entities (ТРРЮЛНЦ – TRRYULNTs) is administered by the Registry Agency attached to the Ministry of Justice.

Registered in the TRRYULNTs are traders, branches of foreign traders, non-profit legal entities and branches of non-profit legal entities, along with the particulars on them that are required by law to be registered.

Also contained in the TRRYULNTS are the documents that are required by law to be kept available for public inspection relating to traders and foreign traders’ branches, non-profit legal entities and branches of foreign non-profit legal entities

Croatia

The court register is a public book containing data and documents on entities which have to be entered in the register by law.

The following are entered in the register: public trading companies (javna trgovačka društva), limited partnerships (komanditna društva), economic interest groupings (gospodarska interesna udruženja), joint-stock companies (dionička društva), limited liability companies (društva s ograničenom odgovornošću), sole traders (trgovci pojedinci), European companies (SEs), European Economic Interest Groupings (EEIGs), European Cooperative Societies (SCEs), institutions (ustanove), communities of institutions (zajednice ustanova), cooperatives (zadruge), unions of cooperatives (savezi zadruga), credit unions (kreditne unije), simple limited liability companies (jednostavna društva s ograničenom odgovornošću (j.d.o.o.)) and other persons that have to be registered by law. Subsidiaries are entered in the register if this is required by law.

Cyprus

The Business Entity's Registry contains all business entities registered in the Republic of Cyprus. You can perform an electronic search by name or registration number.

Czech Republic

The Commercial Register is maintained by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic.

Denmark

<The Central Business Register (CVR)>

The central register of entrepreneurs as Denmark basic public register of information on entrepreneurs.

The Central Business Register is the Danish state's master register of information about businesses.

Estonia

E-äriregistr

E-Business Register is an official portal that includes data of all legal entities registered in Estonia. Information on business bans, lists of members of political parties and artistic associations, information on the beneficial owners of legal entities and information on tax arrears is also available.

Finland

France

Germany

Greece

The General Commercial Register (GEMI) contains information and documents about companies. The search is free for the public. It is possible to download documents stored in the register.

Hungary

The Commercial Register (Elektronikus Cégeljárásban Közreműködő Szolgálat) contains data on registered companies and the corporate documents from which the registration is based. It is possible to search online and the information available is free. Access to additional content is subject to a fee.

Italy

The Italian Business Register is headed by the Chambers of Commerce under the supervision of the Ministry for Economic Development.

Ireland

The Companies Registration Office (CRO) is the central repository for public statutory information about Irish companies and business names.

The CRO is the statutory body for registering new companies in the Republic of Ireland. The office also registers business firms. A business name is a business name that differs from the names of the persons or companies that own the business.

Latvia

The Business Register (Uzņēmumu rejstrss) registers companies, entrepreneurs, their branches and subsidiaries and changes in their founding documents and performs activities stipulated in legal regulations. An electronic search is possible where basic information is available. Detailed information can be obtained for a fee.

Lithuania

The Register of Legal Entities contains enterprises, institutions and non-governmental organizations and collects detailed information on Lithuanian legal entities, as well as branches and representative offices of foreign companies and organizations.

Luxembourg

Malta

The Malta Business Register (Malta Busienss register – MBR) contains general information about companies in Malta. General information from the Malta Commercial Register is available to the public free of charge, however access to certain sections of the website is subject to a fee.

Netherlands

Pakistan

Poland

General Registrar Gospodarki Narodova (REGON) allows the search of all economic subjects. Krajowy Rejestr Sadowy (KRS), led by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland, then enables the search of legal entities.

Portugal

The Portuguese Commercial Register includes sole proprietors, commercial companies, companies under civil law that have the form of a commercial company, independent companies with limited liability (EIRL), cooperatives, public companies, other groupings of companies (ACE) and European economic interest associations, natural and legal persons who are subject to registration in the register by law. Information available online is free.

Slovenia

The commercial register of Slovenia (Poslovni register Slovenije – PRS) contains companies (individual and capital), business entities with a single owner, legal entities under public law, legal entities under private law, associations, natural persons performing activities subject to notification or regulated activities, subsidiaries and branches of business entities, main representative offices of foreign business entities and other entities.

Spain

The Commercial Register (Registro Mercantil) includes information about the company, social capital, legal representative – executive and legal representative – registered general acts published in BORME, submission of annual financial statements and legalized official books.

Sweden

<Bolagsverket>

The Companies Registration Office/Bolagsverket maintains several registers that contain information about registered companies, the overall database being referred to as the Commercial Register. Company name, identification number and status information can be obtained online for free. Additional services are only accessible to registered and paying users.
