Act no. 153/2013 Coll., on the national health information system and amending certain laws, as amended, covering the legislative field necessary for the introduction and operation of the National of hospital information system and connecting healthcare providers so that from 1 January 2018 ( within the meaning of the Act) could be eHealth services over the entire surface deployed and used.

The law on the national medical institution Information System (NHIS) is the legislative framework for computerization of Health at the national level, allowing for the establishment and operation of the National of hospital information system (NHIS) as a basic pillar.

The Law on NHIS for the needs of bringing eHealth into practice provides:

Definition of the subject statutory regulation. A clear definition of new terms. A copy of the processes necessary for the performance of the law. Defining the rights and obligations of individual subjects. Organization and management for operation of the NHIS. Resources for the operation of the NHIS. Dates (transitional provisions, validity, effectiveness). Modification of other laws. And the enforcement of sanctions.
